EMGS Approval to Study Guide for International ODL Students

    • All international students applying to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) are required to obtain the EMGS Approval to Study, in compliance with regulations set by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
    • The EMGS Approval to Study is mandatory for international students who will be pursuing their studies remotely from abroad. This approval ensures that international students are officially registered with the Malaysian Higher Education Authority and enables the issuance of an official Letter of Approval, which is required for enrolment.
    • International students may begin the application for EMGS Approval to Study upon receiving the official offer letter from UTHM.

EMGS Application Steps (Open Distance Learning)

To apply through EMGS, follow the steps below:

  1. Create an Account on the EMGS website.

  2. Select Student Visa.

  3. Choose Open Distance Learning (ODL).

  4. Fill in the Online Form and upload the required documents.
