Visa/Student Pass for Mobility
Visa Application Process (For Mobility Programme Exceeding 1 Month)
PRE ARRIVAL
01 VISA APPLICATION
Apply Visa through Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS) website at least 3 months before the date of registration. Ensure that your passport validity has a minimum duration of 18 months from the start date of your mobility programme.
02 VISA PAYMENT
Payment should be made by the applicant via debit/credit card for the amount stated in the EMGS application page. THe total charges depends on the type of insurance package selected.
03 PRINT SEV/VOA
Once the application is approved. The applicant is required to download and print the e-VAL (Visa Approval Letter) to redeem the single entry Visa (SEV) / Visa on Arrival (VOA) from the Malaysia Embassy Office chosen in the EMGS page.

Once the application is approved. The applicant is required to download and print the e-VAL (Visa Approval Letter) to redeem the single entry Visa (SEV) / Visa on Arrival (VOA) from the Malaysia Embassy Office chosen in the EMGS page.
POST ARRIVAL
01 MEDICAL CHECKUP
The applicant is required to perform medical checkup at any local health center / UTHM health center (PKU). The medical report must be attached with a letter stating that the applicant is 'fit to study'.
02 MEV STICKER
The applicant is required to submit the following documents to the UTHM International Office (IO):
- Passport
- Copy of Passport information (front page, arrival stamp)
- Copy of Medical Verification Letter.
IO will submit all the documents to the immmigration office to obtain the Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) sticker. The amount of processing fee depends on the applicant's country of origin.
POST ARRIVAL

Student Pass (Mobility)/Inbound Visa Application Progress
01 TRACK APPLICATION
Track your application status DAILY via EMGSÂ website. Kindly notify your UTHM Person in Charge (PIC) for any issue arising
02 REDEEM SEV
Once your progress is 80%, you can redeem your Single Entry Visa online EITHER from:
- Selected Malaysian Embassy in EMGS system.
- E-Visa website application.
There is no need to go to Malaysia Embassy.
03 SEV
E-Visa offers Single Entry Visa (SEV) for a single journey to Malaysia without the needs to be present in the Malaysian Embassy.
- Apply via Malaysian Immigration eVisa website application.
- Upload all required documents.
- Make payment.
You will be notified on email once your application has been approved. Print it out in multiple copies (to avoid misplaced or damage) and bring it together along with other documents during your arrival at the Malaysian Entry Checkpoint
04 TRAVEL
Once you have obtained your SEV, you can start to purchase your flight tickets and travel to UTHM.
05 DOCUMENTS
Documents that may be checked upon arrival at Malaysian Entry Checkpoint are as the following:
- Valid passport/travel document
- Valid eVisa printout (eVisa Note)
- Boarding Pass
- Student Offer Letter
- eVAL (Visa Approval Letter)
