Aeronautic Maintenance Hangar
Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) is equipped with aircraft hangar to store aircraft Lear Jet 24 series serviceable aircraft and Lake Renegade LA-270. The Lake Renegade LA-270 was awarded by Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) in a show of support for the development of the aeronautic programme.
Biodiesel Research and Teaching Plant
UTHM has embarked on a project of a biodiesel pilot plant with the feedstock of crude palm oil. It will contribute to the use of sustainable renewable energy source in an efficient manner. The biodiesel pilot plant is a significant platform especially for conducting research and development in area of alternative energy resources that are plentiful available in Johor. This pilot plant represents the real commercial biodiesel plant however in smaller scale.
Advanced Machining Laboratory
One of important facilities in UTHM is the Advanced Machining Laboratory. The lab is well-equipped machining laboratory dedicated not only as teaching facility but also to develop advanced machining processes through research and development in machining-related technology. The facility supporting local industries through R&D and consultation services to the manufacturing and (more recently) the aerospace manufacturing companies.
Material Characterization Laboratory
The laboratory is involved in fundamental understanding of material properties and characteristic. The laboratory houses the advanced facilities such as X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (EDS) and also optical microscopes.
AATA Flight Training Academy
Asia Aeronautical Training Academy AATA is based out of Senai International Airport and has an office at the General Aviation area of the airport together with their current aircraft fleet of a Diamond DA40 and DA42.
