It is COMPULSORY for students ensure that their Single Entry Visa (SEV)/ Visa Acceptance Letter (VAL)/ Calling Visa is valid for at least 20 days when they register in UTHM. This is to give sufficient time for medical check-up in UTHM and for application of the Student Pass (also known as Multi Entry Visa)

Insufficient time to process the Student Pass may require students to apply for a Special Pass (which is an extension of the SEV). A charge of RM160 will be imposed for the Special Pass.

Methods for visa processing fee payment must be made through one of the payment method in the table below.

Please be informed that you have to send the document during Visa Approval Letter (VAL) application through This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before the visa approval letter is released from the Malaysian Department of Immigrations. The documents as a follows:

i) Full pages of medical report UTHM form

ii) Full pages of passport (min validity of passport ONE year – 12 months)

iii) Passport sized photo (WHITE background)

iv) Proof of Payment (Official Receipt of payment)

v) Certificate & Transcript previous

A scan/digital copy of the Telegraphic Transfer transaction must be sent to UTHM International Office (IO) at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

IO will be waiting for acknowledgement from EMGS regarding the success/failure of the Telegraphic Transfer transaction.

Then, IO will send all required documentations to EMGS. At the time IO send the application to EMGS, your passport must have at least 1-year and 3-month validity. Hence please consider the length of your passport.

Documentation required:

  • Passport copy of all pages
  • Academic transcript
  • Offer letter
  • Medical check-up report
  • Digital  passport-sized photograph

If the application is successful, EMGS will pass Visa Approval Letter (VAL) to UTHM IO and subsequently UTHM IO will email it to you.

You must bring the VAL to the nearest Malaysian Embassy/High Commissions/Consulate to receive a Single Entry Visa or Journey Perform (JP). For those who come from countries that have no Malaysian Embassy or High Commission, you may use VAL to enter Malaysia.

With that Single Entry Visa, you are to proceed to Malaysia and:

  1. Register your for program of study at Center for Postgraduate Graduate Studies
  2. Do a medical check-up at UTHM Health Center or nearby clinics off-campus. Approximate payment for medical checkup is as below:
